Getting started

Is Gibbon free?

Yes. Gibbon is free forever. There is no subscription and no paywall, and we do not sell your data.

Which banks are supported?

Gibbon connects to UK banks and card providers through Open Banking. Most major UK banks are supported.

How do I connect my bank?

Open Gibbon, choose to link a bank, and you will be taken to your bank's own secure login to approve access. You are then returned to the app.

Safety and data

Is it safe to connect my bank?

Connections use Open Banking through TrueLayer, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Access is read-only and you approve it directly with your bank.

Can Gibbon move my money?

No. Gibbon has read-only access. It can see balances and transactions to show them back to you, but it cannot make payments or move funds.

How do I disconnect a bank?

Go to your profile in the app and choose Disconnect for a single bank, or Disconnect all. You can also revoke access from your bank's app.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open your profile and choose Delete account. This removes your data from the app and deletes the information we hold on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why would I connect my email?

Connecting email is optional. It lets Gibbon read billing and receipt messages to improve subscription detection, such as spotting price rises and cancellations. You can disconnect email at any time.

What is "safe to spend"?

It is a daily figure that takes your budget, upcoming bills and money set aside for goals into account, so you can see what is genuinely free to spend.

Gibbon found a subscription. How do I cancel it?

Gibbon shows your recurring charges and flags ones that look cancelled or that went up in price. To actually cancel, contact the provider or cancel through their app or website. Gibbon cannot cancel on your behalf.

A subscription or amount looks wrong

Detection is based on your transaction history and improves over time. You can mark a subscription as still active, remove it, or restore it from the subscriptions screen.

Notifications

Turn alerts on in the app to get notified about things like low balance, large purchases or upcoming charges. You can change these at any time in your device settings.
